Computer computing!

I've been looking at getting a new computer for a while but I'm not sure what to do. I want a really good deal for a good computer but I don't know if I should build my own or if I should go buy a pre built one. I've heard it's a pain in the ass to build your own but I feel like bestbuy rips you off on pre built computers. Anyway Ill probably have a rant later today but I do want some advice on what to do. Til next time

  1. ^^ as if he read it....

    anyways it depends.

this is what my roommate did and i think its the best way to go.

    1) wait till dell has a sale
    2) look for a cheap desktop with a nice motherboard/CPU(his was more expensive than the whole desktop lol)
    3) swap out hard drives/videocards/ram for your own super awesome shit

should all cost around 500-600 and it'll be great

  2. You can make an awesome computer for $500-600. If you don't know what parts to pick out just read a lot about it or get someone to help you out. They have a lot of info online and forums so you can ask them to help you out.

  4. Build your own, is normally cheaper, and you get the "cool I built a computer" feeling.

  6. Build your own, or get someone you know that's good with computers to help you build your own. You can save a lot of money, and you'll end up getting a much better computer.

  8. If you know how to build your own go for it because you can make it how YOU want. You will pay around the same ammount as you would a dell but you can make it alot better if you built it yourself

  9. I'd say build your own. It'll be cheaper, run faster, and really let you get to know what makes a computer tic. It's not hard + you get the satisfaction of saying you built it yourself.

  11. Definitely build your own. It's not near as hard as you'd think, just look around online.
Go on newegg to get parts(if you're in the US) and find a list online that fits your pricerange.
Just look into it a little and you can get a far less expensive computer that's better than a prebuilt.

  16. Dude, I'd suggest scan.co.uk. I built my desktop there for a very reasonable price. I don't know if they ship outside of the UK though...
Dell are actually also not bad.

Just don't go mac for the love of god.. please.
